Progress and Cool Free Stuff :)

Hello There,

Things are progressing along but a we bit slower as you may have noted (though I was away yesterday for Caroline’s birthday so have an excuse!….) BUT, I did finally get a new gallery setup going today which (if you haven’t been following the Flickr pool) has some pretty cool Borats that haven’t been seen here previously. I also have set up the latest screen saver render which is about to be uploaded - as usual you don’t have to do anything on your end, it will just stream the new one straight to you! In the next iteration to come very soon I am exploring some ways to add a bit of interactivity into the screen saver stream itself.

I know the voting and feedback pages keep being delayed but I’ve worked it out and am looking at ways to involve YOU (should you choose) more in the project. I am considering adding an upload file feature where - only of course if you want to (you will get mentioned credit should I use anything you submit) but my process and style involves heavy doses of sampling and related techniques. I love the idea of making it possible for you to send me drawings, snippets, whatever you want, that I might use in upcoming portraits. I like the idea of a semi-collaborative thing taking shape with a few of these and exploring that. I absolutely don’t want any feelings of it being me taking work or letting you do my work for me! :) so if you think this is a bad idea please write back your thoughts on the blog. I would definitely give official contribution credit in the cases of original works, including web links and/or other contact info. But officially I would have to have an agreement that whatever you send me is non-exclusive rights to use in any way I choose. So if you think the idea is butt tell me now! My intention is purely to make the creative process more engaging and explore cool opportunities online.

On that note there is a special free content download for members who sign up that will be made available in the next day or two, wicked exclusive freebies that explore ways to share/show the work made possible by the web [some excellent surprises!] and lots more in days to come, think video/animation and even games!? - [and possibly free physical goodies too : ) ?! details coming soon on what I might mean but its definitely something special]

You also get the special treatment with exclusive offers, you’ll be given a one day window each time new Borat originals are offered for purchase or deposit (after they start to become available as of early June!), but probably best of all (without any buying required at all) YOU will be in the running to win the super high-quality, over-the-top, life-sized and awesome Borat #1000 framed canvas (with free shipping and everything!). More details to come soon!
And Even if you can’t imagine where or why you’d put a life-sized Canvas of Borat in your Pad, believe me your going to want this work! [it will be unveiled around July 1st].

So what’s the catch? Nothing so long as you are cool with getting occasional e-mail updates about this project, special bonus download links,  and occasional mentions about other new art projects or oli art news deemed worthy of mention (basically I want you to sign up so I can keep an organized and professionally managed list of those of you interested in my art and this project, that’s all there is to it - and you can unsubscribe in a second on any message at the click of a button. There won’t ever be ads or anything like that, 100% privacy policy. So join up and get the insider’s scoop and see how generous I can be :)

ps - and do let me know your opinions about the uploading your material for collaborative sampling and adding a file upload tool for that purpose as described above? Would anyone for sure want to part-take? Anyone find the idea offensive?
